This is a mod for Family Life. It incorporates the original cheat menu for the game plus adds quite a bit on its own.

If you find any bugs in the game (excluding text, dialog, or translation bugs) feel free to post them and I'll take a look at them. They have to be repeatable bugs and you will need to attach the affected save game if it involves a quest or is a quest progression issue.

You can use the command injector to do just about anything in the game. Some example commands:

Any variable in the game can be modified using the command injector.


Important: If you have never downloaded this mod before then you need to download all 7 parts. Ignore the version numbers on Parts 2 - 6, you need all 7 parts for the mod to work correctly! The version number listed for Part 1 will reflect the latest version of the mod and is the only version number you should care about in the downloads section.

Players who have never downloaded this mod before need to download ALL parts.

Players upgrading from version 22, 23, 24, or 25 of the mod should download Part 1.

The original game of Family Life (latest version) is required for all versions of the mod. The original game should always be installed or upgraded first.

A huge thank you to Ryahn for optimizing the video files, making the mod much smaller! Players only have to download half as many files now.


Installation
The original game of Family Life (latest version) is required for all versions of the mod. The original game should always be installed or upgraded first.

Basic Instructions:
1. Install or update the original game to the latest version
2. Copy all 7 parts of the mod to your 'Family Life' folder (base / root folder)
3. Right-click on each file, one at a time, 'Extract Here' (extract each file in order, Part 1 - Part 7)
4. Overwrite and Merge all when prompted

Extract the contents of each archive into your current Family Life folder (overwrite all or merge all - every time you are asked). Do not create a new folder when extracting the .7x archives (use the 'Extract here' option)! You need to extract each part/.7z archive into the root folder of Family Life.

Most parts of the mod have a 'pic' folder in them. That 'pic' folder needs to be extracted or copied into the base folder of Family Life (which also contains a 'pic' folder), overwrite or merge if asked.

Extract each part of the mod in order (Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, etc.). You need to extract each and every part of the mod individually. 7zip is the recommended software utility to perform the extractions.

Note: The above update will also update version 1.9 to 1.9.5 of the original game.


Starting the game (Family Life)
1. Open folder 'QSPgui' in your Family Life folder
2. Double click on 'qspgui.exe'
3. Click on 'Quest' - 'Open Game' - Browse to 'game.qsp' - 'Open'
4. Click on 'English' - 'Start Game'
5. To load an existing game click on 'Game' - 'Open saved game...' - select the save game in your Family Life folder - 'Open'


Requirements
The original game of Family Life (latest version). Link listed in "Original Game Link" section above.

The minimum supported desktop resolution is 1600x900. The recommended desktop resolution is 1920x1080. This requirement is due to the adding of high quality HD video content to the game.


How can I contribute?
The best way players can contribute to this mod or game is to help update the walkthroughs in the walkthroughs folder that comes with this mod. Game walkthroughs are frequently asked for in this forum thread and in the original game's forum thread. This help is badly needed!


Why is this mod so large? Why so many files? Why not an all-in-one version or torrent?
The original Family Life game displays most of the events using pictures and small animated gifs. This mod displays nearly all events using high quality, high definition (HD), MP4 videos. The videos are much larger than pictures or animated gifs. When I first started this mod, I began using animated gifs but quickly became dissatisfied with the lower quality content. I wanted HQ, HD, videos that were better quality and longer than animated gifs provide.

Many players around the world have difficulty downloading files larger than 2 GB. Not everyone has a stable and fast Internet connection. The main reason, however is that there have been lots of versions of the mod and new videos came out with new versions (for most of the early versions). Players didn't want to have to re-download content they had already downloaded. Since the videos never changed, only the QSPs, this method made sense.

An all-in-one version would be 18 GBs which would take forever to upload and be very tedious to update and maintain. Everytime a new version was released I'd have to upload another 18 GBs using the all-in-one method. Uploading is at minimum 10 times slower than downloading. Many players around the world cannot handle an 18 GB file download. For most of the life of this mod, torrents weren't a good solution either since the mod was being updated one to two times per month. By the time enough players seeded the torrent, the next version was released. Torrents are a good option for files that aren't constantly changing.

All of the pictures and videos contained in the mod are highly optimized and compressed. Several versions ago, all of the videos were re-optimized and re-compressed to reduce file size.

The mod contains nearly an entire games worth of content which is another reason why the mod is so large.


Movie Playback Issues
Players having difficulty playing movie files (MP4) in the Quest Soft Player should use version 0.3.2 instead of the latest version - MEGA Quest Soft Player version 0.3.2

If you don't see any videos play when doing the Laura footjob event or other events in the game then you will need to download and use version 0.3.2 of the Quest Soft Player. Some players have difficulty getting videos to play in the current version of the Quest Soft Player. This is a known issue with the current version of the player. I only have two computers and the videos work fine on both of them so I don't have anything to test a fix with.

Added support to the QSP engine to play video files (MP4). This will allow HD and HQ sex scenes to be added. I haven't been happy with all the animated clips in the game being animated GIFs. They can be choppy and grainy and often aren't the best quality. MP4 videos give me a lot more options. Animated GIFs are still being used today but are old technology (what the game is currently using).
Added a footjob option/event with Laura at hours 23 and 6 if you have patched your relationship with her and are in love again. New content.
Added Laura’s feet as a cum location and integrated the footjob sex scene into Laura’s dialogue and path. Same requirements as above. New content.

Developed some code to handle the random number problem in the QSP game engine. Random die rolls won’t roll a duplicate number until all options/scenes/events have been triggered. Applied this code to the random Johnny events and all camera events added by this mod. I will apply this code in the future as needed. This should fix most issues with the same scenes repeating over and over while others rarely trigger.

Made some adjustments to the camera events added in version 12. You have to be approximately 33% - 50% of the way through Foxy, Gina, or Angelica’s path in order to trigger the new scenes when looking at the cameras in your office. I made the camera events slightly easier to trigger in this version but they may start a bit later in their path than they did in version 12. There are currently 16 camera events for Foxy, 2 for Gina, and 2 for Angelica.
New sex events for Foxy! 12 new events. Three are triggered in Foxy’s room. Three are triggered in the Lounge. Six are triggered when talking with Foxy – Dialog option. Certain conditions are required in order to trigger the new sex events. I spent a great deal of time on this feature trying to get it right. I hope you enjoy my labor! A few of the videos may appear overly long, however none of the video clips are over 4 minutes in length. Many of the videos I had to trim from 30 – 45 minutes down to 2 – 4 minutes which was difficult on deciding what to cut out. I apologize in advance if anyone feels that the videos are too long. I reworked many of the videos over six times in my attempt to shorten them. Some of the longer clips I split up into multiple pieces. The QSP engine doesn’t allow me to add a fast forward feature to the video clips. This feature contains 70% of my planned sex events for Foxy. All the events are repeatable if you desire.

Version 14

Added a new path for Foxy. I’m calling it the Foxy “nymphomaniac” path. It does not interfere with any other path. You have to be at least 90% of the way through Foxy’s path in order to start her new one added by this mod. You also have to have completed Laura’s path. I wrote the path so that it should be fairly straightforward and not require a walkthrough in order to complete it. There are several events that won’t trigger unless a certain amount of time goes by. It usually ranges from two days up to seven days. This was done for realism. If you think you may be stuck and have tried everything, try advancing the time several days, up to a week if needed. Lots of new events were created for this path.
Added a new path for Pedro. I’m calling this path the Pedro “Fuck Toy” path. I added a new character to the game which is what the path and story are built off of. Completing Foxy’s new path is a requirement to start this new path. Lots of new events were created. There should be an interesting plot twist towards the end. Lots of good storytelling in both paths.

Version 15

Finished Tamara/Laura/Johnny path. Resolved a lot of questions and the relationship status with several of the main characters. Finished the storytelling for this path. Lots of good storytelling added. Has some unexpected surprises and bonus content. Lots of fun with an exciting ending!

Added a walkthrough for both new paths added by this mod – Foxy “Nymphomaniac” path and Tamara “Fuck Toy” path. Both walkthroughs can be found in the walkthrough folder in your Family Life folder. I tested both walkthroughs so they are next to perfect and contain all the information you need to complete both paths. You will have to follow Laura’s and Foxy’s walkthrough from the original game in order to unlock Foxy’s new path. You have to fully complete Foxy’s new path in order to unlock Tamara’s new path. They must be done in order. All requirements are listed in the walkthroughs. Several of you have already completed both paths, there are just walkthroughs for them now. Both paths were added several versions ago (so they aren’t new to this version).
Added a toggle for the character portraits – random or static. The new option can be found in the cheat menu at the bottom of the Events tab. Your save game will remember your setting and you can change the setting at any time.
Removed all character portraits that showed private parts (nipples, pussies, and butt holes). A player requested this and it made sense. You should have to earn the right to see them naked. Plus most people don’t walk around their home naked when others are around beside their spouse. Many of the character portraits are still considered sexy, but the nudity is gone.
Added the following number of new character portraits: Caprice – 9, Foxy – 6, Gina – 5, Laura – 9, Michelle – 8, Angelica – 16, and Nikki – 6
Replaced the low quality default character portrait for Angelica and replaced it with a better high quality picture

Version 19

Removed several failure paths with Foxy’s selfie (camera) events in the original game (players were getting hung up on them frequently and asking for help).
Made some adjustments to Laura’s vaginal sex events. They should be more random now. If you have completed Laura’s path, I added in the chance of seeing Laura’s vaginal sex events added by this mod (normally only available on the weekend).
Made Foxy’s first group sex event easier to trigger. Players were having trouble triggering this event. The requirements are the same except I removed the random element (will always trigger now) and increased the time frame in which it can trigger. The event will still only trigger on the weekend (this part fouls a lot of players up but I’m not going to remove it. I want players to stop skipping the weekend and is the reason why a lot of my content triggers on the weekend. In the original game, hardly anything ever triggered on the weekend and so players were trained to skip it by advancing time).
Made the bonus event easier to trigger (Gina content). Players who complete all of Gina’s sex events and group sex events will have a much easier time triggering the bonus event with Kimmy.

Added 8 new sex events for Angelica (nanny). 5 of them are triggered through her Dialog option. 2 of them are triggered by completing all of her Dialog sex events (one triggers in her bedroom and the other one in the lounge (downstairs hall)). One of them is triggered by viewing a specific camera event involving Angelica in your office (you then go pay Angelica a visit in her bedroom when she is there).
Added 3 new group sex events for Angelica (nanny). Angelica doesn’t have as many group sex events as Foxy or Gina. This is due to the very low amount of usable video clips that fit my needs. Because of this, Angelica’s group sex events have more parts or stages to them. I also spent extra time adding more story to them. Please take your time with these and don’t rush through them.
I coded all of Angelica’s random events so they are repeatable up to three times. Once you experience the same event three times I doubt that you’ll want to see it again. If players like this change I may go back and do it for the rest of my content.

All of the added content for Angelica and Lola form a short new path for Angelica/Lola. It isn’t quite finished and I will be adding to it a bit in the future. The orgy event is currently the end of that new path. I will write a walkthrough for it when it is finished.

This should only be used for players who have played through the game at least once or are really stuck and can’t get to this point in the game.
