Ch 7 v1.0.0 NO NEW STORY CONTENT! If you played chapter 7 already, there's no need to download it this version. Unless you want achievements, because this has achievements. 55 in all. Adds a screen to the game to view your achievements. Fixes issue with certain images not showing up correctly after the upgrade to Python 3.9. Adds missing outfit detail variants for M and D in chapter 7, day 5. Adds a new perk for Macy in chapter 6, so both Macy and Denise now have three in all to earn. Adds code to autosave/export choices at the end of chapter 7. These will be used to import your choices at the start of chapter 8. Adds several minor bugfixes and typo corrections. Why 1.0.0? Is this the end? No, don't worry. It's because this is the final update on this installation. Chapter 8 will be its own download, with its own version number. For more details on how to make sure you export your choices at the end of the chapter, and for tips to help troubleshoot problems running and installing the Android version, see HERE - https://naughtyroad.itch.io/light-of-my-life/devlog/591951/final-update-for-light-of-my-life-chapter-1-7. Ch 7 v0.7.4 NO NEW STORY CONTENT! If you played chapter 7 already, there's no need to download it this version. This is a small hotfix, fixing a two small graphics issues where images of Brooke and Sara wouldn't show up in the endgame summary, and Brooke would not show up when sneaking past the Coven. Ch 7 v0.7.3 - 2023-08-23 NO NEW STORY CONTENT! If you played chapter 7 already, there's no need to download it this version. Updated to ren'py 8.1.1 for all versions, hopefully bringing some performance improvements on low spec systems for all platforms. It does mean 32bit support is now well and truly out. Added a new image to the main menu image carousel that unlocks at chapter 7. Revised the main menu image carousel so it doesn't try to predict every unlocked set of images into cache at once anymore, which was causing stalls. Updated the final big scene to have a regular and a streamlined version (with the player being offered the choice at the start of that scene) (*) Another batch of typos, fixed some continuity issues that no one noticed yet, and added a few lines of dialog to a certain couch talk in chapter 6 ANDROID USERS: read the change notes of 0.7.2 for installation instructions if you're having problems! *) Streamlined basically cuts some of the introduction dialog and hotwires a bunch of menu options to skip the little tangents and asides, offering players that felt all the talk was throwing the pacing off a better experience, while keeping the original version intact for those like me that preferred the relaxed intimacy of the slower-paced one. It's still far from a short scene though. Ch 7 v0.7.2 (Android only) NO NEW STORY CONTENT! If you played chapter 7 already, there's no need to download it this version. This update attempts to adress some of the issues people have been having. See here for more details. Built using ren'py 8.1.1, which is based on python 3.9 (instead of 2.7) and seems to be better behaved when it comes to memory management. If you cannot install the game, please note you need about three times the APK size free storage to install it, and to allow it to unpack itself when you first run it. If you still cannot get past the load screen, or are seeing instability and frequent crashes while playing, free up RAM(*). Go into Settings->Device Care->Memory, and close any programs that are taking up a lot of memory. If you cannot free up enough (and honestly, it's a bit like playing whack-a-mole), consider finding a tool in the Play Store that helps you free up more. Considerations on using RAM+ for devices that support it. Note that it's a neat way to add additional *virtual* RAM, but that RAM is actually repurposed storage, and that means it's dead slow. On the one hand, it might be just what you need to get the game running, on the other hand, it might just be what is causing lagging and glitching in your playthrough. *In my successful tests, I had about 1.7GB of free RAM available. That's not a minimum requirement, it very well might work fine with less, but I didn't test that. Ch 7 v0.7.1 - 2023-08-15 NO NEW STORY CONTENT! If you played chapter 7 already, there's no need to download it this version. Reduce image cache size on desktops from 700 MB to 500 MB to help with crash reports for some users. Reduce image cache size on Android to 300 MB (ren'py default) to help with Android players who are able to run the game but are having stability issues. The above will probably not fix the issue some have reported about not getting past the load screen, that is still under investigation. Removed 32 bit support for desktop users. Sorry if you're using that, I'm just getting too many reports about crashes and instability for that version. If you really want to use it, grab 0.7.0, and just drop the data folder from 0.7.1 into that, that should work, but if you're experiencing stability issues, note I can't support you with that. Typos fixed and minor dialog changes. Ch 7 v0.7.0 - 2023-08-12 Adds chapter 7. Added about 10k images, bringing the grand total up to 23k2, for what that's worth. Reworked the gallery system. Now based on save files instead of stripped, dialogless copies of the original scene. Original versions left intact for backwards compatibility. Typos, continuity fixes, small bugs, and other minor changes to dialog to previous chapters. Now runs on ren'py 7.6.1. Because of this, after a load, you can't roll back to a point before the moment you saved, because of glitching images when you do. Ren'py 7.6.0 introduced a warning when loading a save that comes from a different computer, and asks you to confirm loading. You won't see this with saves made in the last version of LomL, but you will see this with saves made in this version. Known issues: Some phones seem to have trouble starting up the Android version. It doesn't seem to be related to model, make, architecture, age, or resources available on the phone, so it's likely settings or other apps, but I haven't been able to pinpoint the issue yet, and it's still under investigation. Ch 6 v0.6.4 NO NEW STORY CONTENT! If you played chapter 6 already, there's no need to download it this version. Adds check for outdated mods, to prevent another WT mod debacle. Another metric ton of typo's and one or two very minor bug fixes. Fixes some graphics glitches. Updates a bunch of grainy renders from the first two chapters. Ch 6 v0.6.3 Fix undefined variable error in end-game summary with certain combinations of office girls paths. Ch 6 v0.6.2 Chapter 6 added. WTF why v6.2? Well chapter 5 was version 6.1 and that was kinda confusing. So now the version and chapter are in step again. Added an option to suppress displaying actual numbers when you are informed a character's love or negative emotion has changed for better immersion (find it under Preferences->Relations). Small fixes to previous chapters. Higher compression rate for images on the Android version to keep within APK limits. Special note for android users: Please note that due to the growing number of images in the game (over 11k) and the hard limit of 2GB for APK images, images in the Android version of Light of my Life had to be compressed more. That comes with some degradation of image quality, but I tried to find a quality setting that best matches individual screens to take the worst edge off. Ch 5 v0.6.1 No new story content! Some typo's and dialogue problems fixed. Dialog box transparency slider added (courtesy of RJ Rhodes). Find it under preferences. Weird graphical issues surrounding blinking eyes caused by lossy webp compression fixed (by using lossless compression on quite a few images; players using unofficial compressed builds will be even more affected by this graphical glitch). Scrabble value of 'sarcasm' now shows the correct point value (d'oh!). Ch 5 v0.6.0 Adds chapter 5 (phew) A whole bunch of typos fixed, and some text changes for style and consistency. For Beta players: fixed some consistency errors in Macy/Denise locked out paths. For Beta players: Updated gallery for chapter 5. Ch 4 v0.5.2 A message from Macy and Denise. Find this short scene right after the end of chapter 4. Hotkeys for choice menus. If you're on PC, Linux or Mac, you can use the number keys to select a menu option instead of having to use the mouse. Now you can have that other hand free to hold a nice, refreshing beverage! The option can be disabled from preferences if you hate seeing little numbers in front of your menu options. See your current relationship levels for characters you've met with a relationship stat. Available from the preference screen, under relationships. A final batch of small fixes for typos and minor graphical glitches.
